B4 Team-Check In

#1 Post by Bixby17 » Fri Jan 11, 2008 9:20 am

So how is your health and fitness stuff this week?

Bueno, semi-bueno, or caca?

(PCLT points will be up later--I am having connectivity issues, so I am not even sure this will go through.)

For me, it has been a semi-bueno week. Jessica had a mysterious virus that gave her fever and headaches. And then it was gone. But we were in the house a bunch.

My sleep has been in the crapper.

The husband was having back issues and wanted a tempurpedic bed. I didn't want one of those beds because I find them creepy in a marshmellowy body snatching way. (We all have our sensory issues).

In any event, he begged and I capitulated and we ended up getting one that is a little less marshmellowy. When you buy one, they say you have to give it a month to get used to it.

I haven't had a full nights sleep since we bought it. Not only that, but I've been having very very vivid creepy dreams whilst sleeping on it.

Conversations with an ex-boyfriend I hadn't thought about in years--running into him at a really nice restaurant. Someone trying to convince me that Roethlisberger has been hit in the head too many times and is damaged goods. Ben telling me that this was crap. Diane and me doing karaoke, and then learning later that our performance was for $1 million dollars and that America was going to vote on it. And then feeling ripped off because we would have done a better job had we known. Putting my purse in a locker at a resort in Phoenix and then not remembering what locker I put it in. Another dream being told that there are no more rooms in our hotel and that we have to share them with others. Get to the room and there are 5 beds in it--4 of them filled with very elderly weak peoples. I get a video Ipod but it doesn't look like an Ipod, because it is bigger and squishier. Diane tells me it is a new kind and check out this new band because they are really on edge. The music is good but in the video various band members are nekkid and have disturbing looking genitalia. (No I don't think that is related to the Armadillo picture, but rather because I saw the Cisco Adler picture. More info about this check out http://galleryoftheabsurd.typepad.com/1 ... rs-ch.html. The link is not porn but links to a nekkid picture of Adler. He is disturbing enough with clothes on)

Very very vivid dreams. I could tell you tons of details from conversations in the dream. And then I wake up, and can't get back to sleep because the bed isn't "broken in" yet. The mattress guy says that takes a while and we are supposed to get our kids to jump on the bed. It's okay sleeping on your back or stomach, but side sleeping hurts because the bed is so solid.

I've had two migraines since we bought that beyotch. I just want to get some good sleep.

It did.

For me it was a relatively good week - after various illnesses and schedule disruptions, I made it back to the fitness center on a regular basis. Not only that but since things are fairly calm in the office I've been able to go down to the wellness room and use their treadmill to do a little walking.

Two words: Fecal Incontinence.

Two more words: Not Mine.

And two more: Thank God.

But I get the laundry.

I guess the two words I can use for my health would be Turf Toe. My toe isn't broken, but my husband said if I strained the ligament, it will take longer to heal than if I had broken it. Walking is limited to short distances. I'm considering buying shoes a size larger than I need just so my toe doesn't push against the inside of the shoe when I walk. But that is kinda dumb since I'll probably get blisters from slipping around inside the shoe.

I'm just mentally whipped. I'd love to get away for a weekend, but my partner in crime is just beyond broke right now. I have spare money and no time, and she has spare time in spades (no work as an appraiser with the housing market in the tank) but no money. I'm actually considering runningoft alone, but that's pretty pathetic. Peaceful, though....

Minime wins whatever contest we are having, hands down.

I walked with Mom a lot but did not get around to swimming. Maybe Sunday.

The womens football team is having tryouts for a spring league, and I am tempted. But it's just so much trouble getting Saturdays off. I will support them without playing, I think. But maybe get in a few workouts with the team.

Thought I posted a response earlier, but it must've just been in my mind.

First of all, major sympathy to Mini, since I remember laundry of that sort. Yuck.

I am really pleased with where I'm headed. Working with weights every other day, met with a personal trainer to change up my routine (now instead of doing upper one day and lower the next, I"m doing Pushing one day and Pulling the next)(and just keep your jokes to yourself, BiT!) and eating better, although still not great.

The ongoing saga of the cigarette fight continues, as well. Haven't had one in 11 days, which not-so-coincidentally is how long it's been since I played golf.

Got to continue to work on late-night snacking more than anything.

Push-Pull-abs is a good three-day rotation.

I've been eating a lot this week, but the people who brough it to me said it was very nutritious. I didn't get much exercise, but I've already made about 16 trips around tthe back yard at home to make up for that. The sun is shining, and that feels very good on my achy spots.

I have to wear a stupid-looking television satellite dish around my neck, but it only took me about 12 seconds to figure out how to convert it into a lovely royal blue princess cape. The color, I think, is rather becoming.

I have nothing but complaints. I wish somebody would get me motivated. I think the miserable weather contributed to a headache for the past 3 days. I actually have a sore spot on the right side of my forehead from where it was hurting so badly. :(

Went to see about my knee today from my fall 6 weeks ago. Nothing broken or torn, but it does have fluid. He offered to stick a needle in it and drain it, but said if it wasn't bothering me I could just let it go down gradually. I chose the latter.

I need to lose 5 pounds like yesterday. I will have it off by this time next week. I ordered myself one of those large exercise balls you use for stretching. I've read a lot of good stuff about them. I hope I like it.

Ehh for me.

Not smoking, which is good news, but either I got the stomach bug that everyone in the office has (hopefully) or the Chantix has declared war. Unpleasant, either way.

But hey, not smoking.
