#1 Post by BBTranscriptTeam » Thu Apr 15, 2010 6:12 pm

Guest Host: Steve Harvey

O.T. Wells
Teaneck, NJ

While Steve introduces himself in the intro segment, he has O.T. holding a copy of Steve's book. Steve adjusts the book so it's prominently displayed for the camera.

O.T. is a member of "the greatest fraternity on Earth," Omega Psi Phi. Steve gets out of his chair to exchange a fraternity hug with O.T.

O.T.'s wife, Angela, is in the audience. They've been married for six years. The first thing O.T. is going to do with the money he wins is tithe to the church. I was cruising along with this stack until the $15K Q about guns. Oh boy, this is one I have no clue on. What lifeline to use first? I doubt the Expert knows, Double Dip probably won't help me, maybe I better ATA and hope they watch lots of cop shows on TV. Too bad I can't PAF my uncle, who's a retired cop. One of the things he worked in was ballistics. He would know this one!

The $50K was tough, too. I was waiting for a Hispanic or Asian name to come up among the choices, as those ethnic groups have grown in population.
I'm just a game show nerd.

What a gift stack up to the $50K. The $25K question was a semi-recycled $500K PT Question.

Of course someone from a fraternity named "psi phi" would get a "sci-fi" question.

Then why did you use the lifeline, O.T.?

Answer
C: Carpathia ( 1 )
In grade school I read "A Night to Remember" by Walter Lord several times - I was fascinated by the detail he provided. It's a good thing that "Californian" wasn't one of the choices or I'd have had to Double Dip. (The Californian was in the area but didn't get involved in the rescue - they did meet up with the Carpathia but only after it had rescued the "over 700" survivors).

It's either A or B, so since I have the DD, I'll use it. I know that "Brown" was third (or fourth, depending upon whether "Jones" and "Johnson" are counted together) when I was younger.

I can't play the video here at work, but the answer should have been the Californian although it actually had stopped due to the ice.

Just in case you want to know:
Spoiler
Mark used his 50/50, leaving "Carpathia" and "Californian" as the two choices. He confidently makes "Carpathia" his final answer and drops back to $32K.
