Blossom says her husband has a masters in political science but is not here.
She is pretty certain it was not on the west coast or the southwest, does not think it is WV either so would guess Delaware.
Asks Peppy what she thinks and Peppy says she has no idea.

And after Peppy said final, someone in the audience decided to clap and, it turned out, they were wrong. I wish they'd really enforce no clapping until the answer is given, because a) it tends to ruin the drama of a moment and b) it can end up sadly like this.

Was Steve channeling the Bored's opinion of celebrity "experts" there?
I also heard some reaction from the audience when Peppy asked for the ATA; it sounded like they didn't approve of her lifeline usage, either.

I knew the answer to the politics Q cold. I think she should have used ATA first. I was surprised that the Expert knew the answer.
I would have needed a lifeline on the very next question, however. I would have started with ATA. I doubt the Expert knows French. I was confused by the word "pate" since I've heard of liver pate, which is a spread.

Watching a lot of Food Network did me wonders for that $15K question.

15K - Maybe I should change my avatar to something other than food, as I was in the same spot as Kazoo tonight.

Oh, you must be a very special young man to know so much about food. The only food network I know is when all of us sisters bring covered dishes to one house so we can feed everyone who helps with the harvest or a barn-raising. Our food is plain and simple, so I've never tasted a pate. I don't think I want to, though. It sounds like it would still have hair on it.

I was at Disneyland today. And there were Amish folk out amongst the English, among other nationalities.

Did they ride special horse-powered roller coasters?

So far I haven't been impressed with Steve Harvey as a guest host.

I would have had no idea. Since I associate "pâte" with a spread eaten on crackers, I might have done what Peppy did and left with $5K. But since "choux" isn't French for "cheese", that puts a different light on it. Under the pressure of TDC® I'd either blurt out a wrong answer or go with ATA and hope. Given the lack of response from the audience (except for one lone clapper) they may well have known this.

You mean you were surprised that she could guess,
by the process of elimination, what state the vice president is from?

That's a common misperception. We can ride in cars and buses or on airplanes and rollercoasters. We just don't drive any of them.
I suppose it's even possible that the people at Disneyland were not Amish, but Mennonites. They are a wild bunch.

That's true. I did not see them at Autopia.

This is true. The best way to satisfy an Amish woman is to give her
two Mennonite
