Michigan's presidential primary-or "if it ain't broke,

#1 Post by Kazoo65 » Wed Jan 09, 2008 8:23 pm

Michigan is having its' presidential primary next Tuesday. It was supposed to be on February 5th, but the state legislature (wanting our state to be more relevant in the process) voted to move it up.

Well, their plan sort of backfired on them. When the national parties found out about this, they weren't too happy. The Repulicans said that there would be half the usual number of delegates representing Michigan at the convention. The Democrats said that there aren't going to be ANY delegates from Michigan at their convention.

As for the candidates-the Republicans have Romney (his dad was governor back in the 60's), McCain (he won here in 2000) and Paul all spending money on TV and radio ads.

The Democrats are basically ignoring Michigan-Hillary Clinton and Dennis Kucinich are the only 2 major candidates on the ballot-I know because I filled out a Democrat absentee ballot. No Obama, no Edwards.

Next Tuesday should be interesting.
I'm just a game show nerd.
