Florida in April or May?

I'm planning a short trip to Sarasota soon. Any thoughts on whether April or May would be a better time to go? I don't want it to be too hot, but I'd like it to be nice and warm enough for a trip to the beach.

If you want to get in the water at the beach - I'd go in May (early). If you want to be sitting on the beach and not really go in the water, I'd go in April.
