My Dad (a Civil War buff, which is why I mentioned it to him) told Chapin he might want to check out the Civil War, since there was a lot of interesting stuff there, too.

It occurred to me last night: Time from Civil War Era to my Dad's birth = time from WWII to middle son's birth. Give or take ten years, anyway.

It's an amazing thing about films--they can be preserved (and watched) for years and years!

Yes, but Temple is not one of them, at least not watched. I've owned it as part of the original trilogy set for years, and still haven't sat through the entire thing. I knew the answer on this question from my other sources for acquisition and retention of trivial information.
