I love the smell of chain saws in the morning.

Early today, tree guys showed up. They cleared my yard. They cut down a troublesome tree. They climbed up to cut away the broken stuff that still hovered over the parking spaces. I can see the ground. I have sunshine. It is glorious.
When the FEMA truck finally comes to pick up the enormous pile of sticks on my curb, I will throw flower petals and wave flags. I would shower them with ticker tape, if I knew where to get some.
On the down side, because of all the morning's hullaballoo, I lost track of the time and didn't get to the vet clinic until 15 minutes after their early Saturday closure. I didn't get to see Annie. The vet probably has already taken her to another care center, but I'm not sure which one. If I don't hear from him by tomorrow, I will start calling around until I find her.
Oh, there's one other downer, less important. A tree branch fell onto the side of the house, where it dislodged the cable to one of my connections. I don't have television in my office. Worse, I have lost my high-speed access until I move everything to my bedroom. I'm now using Annie's laptop on dial-up, so I may be sporadic and scarce until I can get the cable company to pay me a visit.
Did I mention it was 70 degrees? Is it right to have such a warm day for clearing damage from an ice storm?
