And I just read that Oklahoma has an official state meal: cornbread, sausage and gravy, chicken fried steak and pecan pie. Code Blue Plate Special. So how come all the Oklahomans I know about (viz.: the Camaro household) are all so sleek and trim? Must not be real Oklahomans.

On the subject of lookalikes: Am I the only one who thinks Josh Groban looks like Neville Longbottom's older brother?

The fact that Oklahoma has an official State Meal just means that the Oklahoma state legislators are overpaid and have too little to do.

Obama sounded much more like a preacher to me than Huckabee did.

New York has absentee ballots for the primary, yet Iowa does not.

Losing 5 pounds is harder for me in my 50's than it was in my 40's.

The cost of a present has little influence on how such present can touch one's heart.

Congressman Peter King looks too much like author Stephen King to not be related.

What do you expect from a state where the official state flower is a parasite?

Chicken fried steak, cornbread, and pecan pie are pretty yummy. I only eat those things about twice a year, though, instead of three times a week.

So everyone will know what I mean, Pea sent me a book called "Unleashed," which is a small volume of poetry "by writers' dogs." When I first opened the book to a random page, I found myself staring at a poem about a dog who ran 90 miles an hour into a brick wall. It struck me as a metaphor for Annie's entire life, and I probably will shed tears every time I read it. This book may be the greatest gift of the heart I've ever received. Thanks again, Pea.

Well, I don't know about wintergreen but I never gigged, noodled or even canoodled with catfish and I have hermillion and snaxx as my witness.

I am not understanding why I am seeing people in open-toed shoes and fishnet stockings or barelegged in 20 degree weather.

I know people are into fashion here but this baffles me.

My favorite was the woman I spotted yesterday wearing a short sleeved fur coat. I didn't even know they made them like that.

Rain Man wears a t-shirt and sandals pretty much year-round and only deigns to wear long pants if it's in the 40's or lower, unless it's a school day when he wears long pants when I say so, and he can't wear sandals to school. It's not a fashion thing in his case, but perhaps a nerve-ending thing. He has a very high threshhold for pain.

"Short-sleeved fur coat" is painting ugly pictures in my head. Fugly-ugly...

Iowa has primary elections but the thing yesterday was a caucus. The Iowa primary is in June. I'm pretty sure you can vote by absentee ballot in that election.

Every time I see Huckabee on TV but I'm not paying attention to the sound, I wonder why they're doing a story on Bob Dole.

My husband is my number one choice for noodling, but if I could have a second choice, Uly and Wintergreen would be high on the list.

I agree, and it didn't bother me. Of the three major Democratic candidates, Obama is the only one who doesn't make my skin crawl. I won't vote for him, but I do like his approach to the campaign.

Well he hasn't evolved very much.

Usually it is the better/improvement type things that are harder. For example, it is easier to mess up a room than clean it, easier to gain weight than loose it (and unless you want to be b**** slapped don't tell me how hard it is for you to keep weight on).

However, it is easier to undecorate a house after Christmas than to decorate it.

I have talked to her. She is still in the healing mode, but getting better.
I think between Christmas, injury, boys being home during break, etc, etc,
there just hasn't been any time to visit us!

She said to tell everyone hi for her and she will be back!

I found it amusing that on the day his son was born, my son received his official invitation from the AARP. They can't figure out why he hasn't signed up yet.

Maybe it's because they're 25 years early??
