I can't do it anymore

I've tried and tried and tried, but I can no longer tolerate this show. They keep driving Millionaire into the ground with every week that goes by. So with that Real Housewives garbage coming up soon, I guess now is a better time than ever to take Millionaire off my DVR. I just can't sit through a half-hour of this stuff anymore. Obviously, I'm still going to stick around here, so whenever a BB is on, I'll gladly tune in. But other than that, I'm done. I hung around longer than I should have, frankly... so it can't be said that I didn't try.

At least I've got the GSN reruns with Regis to remind me that Millionaire was actually a great show way back when.

Maybe you should start watching Win Lose or Draw....

Record it but let it wrap. We'll let you know if it's worth watching one.

Man, if only I was around on the internet to see how overdramatic some people got when Jeopardy! added video clues read by celebrities, the Clue Crew and doubled the board values. (By the way, they're still the #2 syndication show on TV.) I guess the Golden-Road atmosphere has gotten into your head. I'm not sure what exactly you "can't do anymore", but I don't know how "they" have been continuing to drive Millionaire into the ground, since a) contestants can have a bad week just as easily as they can have a good week (which we've seen, too) which doesn't have much bearing on the producers since all contestants had to have passed a trivia test so we know they should have the brains to be on and b) the expert has been great with the questions he's been given this week. It's a fact that the ratings are up since season's start, so if the show continues to maintain or even gain the average viewer and loses poor ol' you, I think "they" will be alright with that.

Your greatness assessment is quite generous. Are you grading on a curve?

Sorry to go off on a tangent but, how do you keep posting on that site Chad1m? I can't seem to register since I never get a confirm my registration email, but I think I'm glad I don't. I frequently skim the posts on that site for taping information (once when the family considered attending a taping) and it seems to be a "how much can we bash Drew for the smallest things" site. If I did get an account there, I'd probably get kicked off for ranting about how they need to let off drew, he is not the problem. I watch the show 3+ days per week and I have no problems with Drew and his hosting. If they want to get more viewers the first thing they do is hire a new marketing dept because their current one sucks if they have one. Most people that i've talked to TPiR about are shocked it's still on. Bring back a couple primetime specials to generate some publicity. Also, stop with the constant trips nobody can price. If they want to give it away as a prize in a non price the prize game thats fine, but I don't know how many people can't know the price of a private jet from LAX to wherever.

Which leads me back to Millionaire, I personally don't think there's that many things wrong with the show. I'm able to live with the clock and the reduced 32-64-125 amounts, but the one thing that does still tick me off is the POF. ATE takes away the person's ability to choose their destiny with who they pick as their help. If they tweaked the lifeline by letting a contestant choose their expert (whether personal or celebrity) and put them on Skype, I could like that. I think we're seeing fewer big winners recently because honestly I think TPTB blew most of their prize money wad with the early big winners, (couple $100K and the 1 $250K and the ToT winner with nobody else risking their winnings).

To the best of my knowledge (since two days of transcripts aren't up), he has provided each contestant who used him with the correct answer. That's great in my book.

He was wrong on the Celebrity Q this week.

Ohh, right right. The
Spoiler
Seinfeld
one. Okay, so not "great" (even though that was obviously not an ask the expert-style question and even though his reasoning for the incorrect answer wasn't moronic) but I definitely rank him as good.

And as to why I post at Golden-Road: Not everyone there is bad and for those that are, I enjoy "fighting the good fight" and like trying to combat some of the lunacy that's posted there.

Well keep up the good fight. I think I am glad I don't have an account there. Rather than a fan site to talk about the show and how people played and what they gave away, it seems to all be (they should get rid of Drew because he doesn't read the price right) or (he doesn't have the exact same persona as Bob did.) I wouldn't be shocked if someone said, "I don't like him because he isn't Bob and they should get of him because of that." I'm sorry, but every personality is different. If this bored was a constant Meredeth bash and they should bring back Regis, I probably wouldn't be on this bored for long.

In my book, going two-for-two on low value questions was not yet sufficient evidence to proclaim Donny "great." And he was only sure about the Gaddafi question, not the Eleanor Roosevelt question. He may be better than average, but that's a pretty low standard lately.

Let me finalize my statement. In this surge of "just celebrities, not really trivia buffs in anything" as experts (which, regardless of my stance of enjoying new things on this show, I absolutely loathe), in comparison to some nitwits they've had on Skype, Donny has done a good job.

Okay, so you do grade on a curve. I think I'll at least wait until tomorrow before passing judgment. It's not like he didn't warn us about the Seinfeld Dursting.

If you're supposed to be some kind of ambassador for game shows, you're not very good at it. OTOH, if you're a shill for Millionaire, you're good at that.

What's your issue with me? I've never seen you make a non-negative post toward me and I'd love to know why, especially considering I don't know anything about you and have no problems with you at all. I mean, the header of your blog comes from a t.A.T.u. song so we have to have something in common.

If only WLoD were still on the GSN schedule.

Chad, don't even waste your time with him. He's an equal opportunity asshole. He's a sociopathic sissy-boy who shows up here once in a while to make unprovoked, juvenile attacks, usually on me. His clever repartee is to call everything and everyone stupid, an idiot or a vegetable. He's got 874 posts here, but he's yet to be non-negative, helpful or even slightly interesting.

The real irony is that he's too dumb to know that no one who has read enough of his posts gives any weight to his opinion, nor has any respect for him, so his attempts to insult them fall spectacularly flat. Don't give him the perverse satisfaction of thinking that you care what he thinks of you. He's not worth it.

His interest in t.A.T.u. is because they are scantily clad girls who are totally age-inappropriate for him. He's used a succession of such images as his avatars. They probably remind him of all the girls who beat him up in grade school...

I have no interest in wasting my time auditioning for the show in its current format. The chances of being selected is vanishing low and and the upside is equally low.

I'm sure that's fine with the show. They don't want anyone as good as you on nowadays.

Which is exactly why I took myself out of WWTBAM contention a long time ago.

I'll stick with auditioning for J!

I've never tried out for WOF before, but maybe I'll give that a spin if the Wheelmobile ever comes to Kentucky.

Please go on...so what you're saying is that the hot seat contestants this season have not met your lofty standards? Ouch, that hurts!
