Jeopardy Round - "The Rising"

$200 - According to a proverb, a rising tide does this.
Lifts all boats/ships

$400 - The Easter Rising took place in Ireland in this year.
1916

$600 - John Toland's account of the "Decline and Fall of the Japanese Empire"
The Rising Sun

$800 - In song, Sean O'Farrell tells us that "the pikes must be together by" this event
The Rising of the Moon

$1000 - The Ketan Mehta film "The Rising" is about Mangal Pandey, the instigator of this 1857 rebellion in India.
Sepoy Rebellion / Mutiny. I was more-or-less unaware of this event until I read Zadie Smith's White Teeth (which I wouldn't recommend) a couple years ago, but since then I've run into at least a half-dozen references to it.

Double Jeopardy Round - "Chicago"

$400 - In a 1980 movie, they led the police, Illinois Nazis, and many others on a merry chase through Chicago as part of their "mission from God."
The Blues Brothers

$800 - The pictured untitled sculpture in Daley Plaza was designed by this Spanish artist. http://cache.eb.com/eb/image?id=82671&rendTypeId=4
Picasso. Everyone calls it "the Picasso". One of my favorite things about it is that the bottom part is tilted, and kids use it as a slide.

$1200 - Hopefully you won't have to wait a lonely lifetime to find out that one of the official mottos of Chicago is this 2-word phrase (the other official motto is "Urbs in Horto", and I've been told the UNofficial motto is "Where's Mine?")
"I Will". I've been told it has something to do with the determination to rebuild after the Fire. If you look for it, you can see it on all the "L" cars (at least all the cars that haven't been sold as one big advertisement). And, yes, the "wait a lonely lifetime" part was meant to be a clue.

$1600 - This Erik Larson bestseller describes the 1893 Columbian Exposition as well as the workings of a mass-murderer who lived nearby.
The Devil In the White City

$2000 - One of this "Rules for Radicals" author and native Chicagoan's first organizing successes was the Back of the Yards Neighborhood Coalition
Saul Alinsky. If you do lefty organizing nonprofit work, he's a huge name. If not, I guess not so much. But his biography, Let Them Call Me Rebel is a pretty good read

Not at all. He is the one that I expect to make them.

You doing them goes over a little bit like it did when bob##s tried.

I'll change my avatar before I try again.

That would work!

Good thought.
