ATA on $10K.
$12.5K-figure it's Eleanor because she was First Lady during WW2, when people were growing Victory Gardens.
$15K-no idea. ATE and if that doesn't help, DD.

No clue on this one. I'll try the audience. I may have to go to Donny as well if the audience is unsure.

Again I ask - "Who?" I'm beginning to think that this whole ATE thing is not geared toward choosing real experts but rather promoting other people's careers. Surely TPTB wouldn't stoop to such a thing?!

I was surprised that only 59% of the audience knew the right answer. At least they knew that Purdue was in Indiana.

A recent episode of "Iron Chef America" featured vegetables from the White House garden as the "secret ingredient". Alton Brown spoke with Michelle Obama about the garden and this bit of trivia was mentioned. However, had I been in the HS when the show was taped I wouldn't have known it. My first thought was that it would be Edith Wilson (a "victory garden") but when her name didn't show up, I would have been stuck. I could eliminate Jackie and Nancy (neither of them strike me as the gardening type). Frankly I might have gone with Mamie because she seemed more "down to earth" than the others. Let's say I don't, and use the DD. I end up with the right answer.

Yipes! This doesn't strike me as one that either the audience or the expert would know, but I'd burn the lifelines anyway on the off chance that they might come through.

Yes, but it's not incorporated and therefore has no government, the same as Notre Dame.

What does not having a government have to do with it?

What does not having a government have to do with it?
It means it can't be called anything more than a "place" with a post office, not a city or town. That's unlike most northeastern states where
everything is a city, town, township, etc.

Well, it is in a township. Everywhere in Indiana is in a township. All the counties are divided into them. The townships have elected trustees and township boards. So they have at least that level of government.
To the other point, half the towns in the area where I grew up weren't incorporated. Still called them towns.

We have a bunch of towns that are subsets of other towns, and I think are technically called villages or something else. But we still refer to each unique one as a town. Example that I'm sure no one will have heard of (or care about): I call Plantsville, CT a town...but technically I believe that Plantsville is a village that is within Southington, CT. My point being, CT has a lot of these "towns" that are not towns.

What would a store for girls have to do with an environmental case?
(and Appa, if you don't understand now, you will very shortly...)

I've heard of Plantsville. I used to live in Hamden and would drive up Rt 10 to Mt. Southington to take my oldest daughter (who was 7 at the time) skiing back in the '80s. My Sister-in-law lives in Cheshire, not too far away.
BTW, I hope no one you know were effective by the explosion. My heart goes out to the families of the victims.

The College Football Hall of Fame is in South Bend, not in Notre Dame. For the time being. It is likely moving to Atlanta in the future. If you spent the night you were probably in South Bend. Or possibly out on the 31 bypass. Not sure how much of that is within the city limits.
