State Holiday TODAY ?

#1 Post by fuzzywuzzy » Thu Jan 03, 2008 9:32 am

Well, it should be since there is NOBODY here! Everyone from the KU Kansas City campus is either in Miami reveling in the Orange Bowl hoopla... Or they are at home preparing to have their own parties to revel in the Orange Bowl hoopla! :D

fwh has to be at the Lawrence campus all week...the only people at the KU Lawrence Campus are the poor schmos working on the CMLD grant that is due this month... yep, fwh = poor schmo!

Well, since the sports experts predict Virginia Tech 3 1/2 over KU...everyone expects KU to lose.

Hmmm, I hope (crossing all appendages now) that the Jayhawks have a great showing, and make for a memorable football game! :)

I don't take it personally. I decided long ago that I wouldn't let a bunch of 19- and 20-years olds be in charge of my happiness.

Good decision, SC. My usual comment after a game we've lost is "it is just a game." I like to win, but it's certainly not the end of the world if we don't.

Good Luck to the Jayhawks. Y'all's uniforms remind me of "Old School" New York Giants uniforms from the 60's and they were my favorite NFL team.

Hopefully before you turned 17
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.
