I remember an episode of Magnum PI in which Magnum winds up competing in the Ironman Triathlon while trying to work on a case at the same time. That was the first time I'd ever heard of it.

Robert tried to make a joke out of it by saying "orbis non sofficit" means "I have no idea". Why do that when you've given the contestant the right answer? ATE is not an excuse for a comedy riff.

Of course not. It was taped in October, but Candace was supposed to pretend that it was January. But then TPTB fouled things up by airing Reege's guest week in December and bumping the rest of the schedule back, so they should have done some editing magic to have Candace say, "Oh, right, this month!"

I think Robert did fine on this, as he was unambiguous in his confidence. (just as he's been unambiguous in the other instances when he hasn't known the answer) Compared to the other recent experts, I think he's been pretty good.

Yes, I do realize that is faint praise. :-/
