OK, so this week's Expert is an ACTOR??? What does HE know about trivia? I would only trust an actor with an entertainment type question.
On to the stack:
Tonight's Final J! was about the subject of the $3K question.
Geez, 2008 wasn't that long ago. I'm surprised the contestant didn't know this. I bet the audience would have. I didn't see the show, but probably would have been yelling at the TV.

$15K with all LLs.
Never heard of the phrase "day-peep", but dawn is the only thing that makes sense. Maybe TDC didn't allow him the time to think about this one.

I figure he mixed "my fellow citizens" with the oft-used presidential phrase "my fellow Americans". Still, I'm sure many of us, right or left, remembered the continuous "my friends." Tough break.

Wuhl has done a program on the History Channel called "Assume the Position". Here is an excerpt from wiki:
"In 2006, he starred on HBO in a one-man-show, Assume the Position with Mr. Wuhl, where he taught a history class to show how history is created and propagated in a similar fashion to pop culture. A second chapter entitled Assume the Position 201 with Mr. Wuhl aired on HBO in July 2007. Wuhl is currently developing a stage adaptation of "Assume the Position" at Ars Nova in New York City."

Who?? Even after I saw his face I didn't recognize him from anything.

I'm guessing Matt isn't a close follower of politics.

Yes, he told Meredith that he realized what the answer had to be, as soon as he asked for the ATA. And then Meredith said he shouldn't feel bad about that,
since it happens all the time.
Why is that, Meredith? Could it be because of
The Damned Clock?

Could be a good expert. Robert Wuhl does have a little game show experience. He won $10,000 as a contestant on "Pyramid" back in the 1970s.

I'm sure you're right, that was definitely the distractor option. But it certainly wasn't a wicked one. Clearly this fellow is cursed with youthful ignorance of politics. :-/
And the transcriber didn't mention it, but his "plan for the money" story was that he's always wanted a pug, his boyfriend says he could get a pug if he wins $250k.
A pug? pug? C'mon! I'm sure there are going to be dissenters here on the board, but that's not a real dog!

My thoughts exactly, Nelly.
Of course, as others have pointed out, factors including TDC may have caused the problem as well.
[Sigh ...]
Nihil obstat.

"My fellow Americans" was LBJ's main catch phrase. And you can't spell "my fellow Americans" without F-R-E-S-C-A.

Whoa, you just blew my mind. James Burke would be proud of that one.
