Congrats Clyde, the second BB in a week to clear the second tier w/o PAF!
Too bad about the latest Snow job. I did learn from her that Rho is a letter in the Latin alphabet; that was news to me.
I also saw and noticed that horse in Denver last year from an airport shuttle:

This actually came up as the Final Cut question in the NTN game Spotlight on the night before the Nashville audition. I don't watch the show, but I knew the answer from that.

I would've done the same thing as Clyde. Double Dipped on San Antonio and Denver.

I love it! A bald guy wins $25,000 on a question about Rogaine!

God, I love these Greek and Latin questions. Rho (P) is the Greek equivalent of the letter R, so based on that, I would've made an educated guess on C, thinking that rhotacism might have to do with mispronouncing R sounds. And sure enough, I thought it out correctly.
Congratulations, Clyde!

Nice work, Clyde! I didn't get to see the show today because I was on a plane. Coincidentally, I flew to Denver, and I'm in Boulder right now. I had no idea that big blue horse would be a key factor in your game. Nice get on "Breaking Bad." I wouldn't have known that one. Condolences on your loss of the PAF lifeline. Rhotacism would have been an easy Google, so there's no way of knowing how much you might have won under the old rules. Congratulations!

I wish I'd had this question, but not for the reason you might think. I had the perfect anecdote for it. My uncle actually worked on the clinical study for the BP medication. One of the side effects was the hair growth. The women in the study were not happy about it. Rogaine is about 1/10th the strength of the dose that would affect the BP.

And how much of that story do you think you would have been able to squeeze in during your 30 seconds? You know, I enjoyed watching both you and Clyde, but it really sucked that people who didn't know either one of you would only get the vague feeling that you both had personalities under all the 'final answer' 'final answer' 'final answer' crap that this show has turned into.
I'm surprised that Jeemie thinks this question is so obscure, I thought it was pretty common knowledge (along the same lines as Zyban coming into being when they discovered people taking Wellbutrin weren't smoking as much). But, maybe I only think it's common knowledge because it's my knowledge. Ha!

After laughing while Meredith read the question, I would have said "My uncle actually worked on the clinical studies for this. A. Rogaine. Final answer."
And yes, the combination of TDC, my overly focused "game persona" and the eye made me more subdued than normal. Some of Clyde's personality came through, but he was a real hoot with The Punchy Bunch while I was still in the green room. Playing for that kind of money can get to you. Plus he'd been waiting for his shot since 7:30 AM.

Dumb luck would have gotten me through this one. The first and only connection I made was that rhotacism begins with "rh" which may have some similarity to the root for rhetoric. Given it was a free guess, I would have gotten it right.

Good job Clyde! I loved the irony of the Rogaine question.
I had no clue on the 50k question, despite having a little Latin (and less Greek) in college.

Congratulations, Clyde! You went as far as TPTB seem to want contestants going, any more.
How many BBs actually knew what a rhotacism was? Not just that you'd be able to make a logical guess from the choices, but actually knew the definition? Sheesh!

I knew. It's a freerice.com word. I'm doing freerice till I can go a whole day without going below 60. "Rhotacism" is in the mid 50s, I believe. There's also "betacism." I wonder if there's a tacism or cism for every Greek letter.
