Transcript 01/28/10 - Christian Carrion

#1 Post by BBTranscriptTeam » Thu Jan 28, 2010 7:27 pm

Christian Carrion
New Haven, CT
College student

Chris is thrilled to be here. He says he is the biggest game show nerd that Meredith will ever meet and this is his favorite game show of all time. Chris also wants Meredith's job, more than he wants the money from playing the game.

Chris's brother, Andrew is in the audience. He's happy, too.

As if that wasn't enough, Chris does a mean Gilbert Gottfried impression, which he demonstrates.

For me, his shtick and mannerisms got old reeeeally quick. Just calm down and take a chill pill. To me, he was more annoying than the actor-wannabes they cast on Catch 21. You can be personable and excited without making someone wish TVs still had knobs so they could pull theirs out. =P

Wow, what a suck-up. Yeah, I also used to think this show was my favorite game show of all-time. Back when they still had Phone-a-Friend and the Phone Game. And didn't cast actors. And didn't dummy up the show with all of these so-called "experts". Last time I checked, this show was supposed to be called "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?", not "Who Wants to Win $10,000?" or "Who Wants a SAG Card?"
BBTranscriptTeam wrote:As if that wasn't enough, Chris does a mean Gilbert Godfrey impression, which he demonstrates.
I have no idea who Gilbert Godfrey is... but I'm going to assume that you meant Gilbert Gottfried.

So far, so good.

My rare comment in this vein: If he were on this Bored he would spend more than 0.5 seconds thinking of where Appalachia might be in this country instead of practically interrupting Mere to use the ATA. As Chad pointed out, his shtick seemed to take precedence over his game play.

Chad, you're absolutely right. I pray that they don't selectively edit me to appear as high-strung and irritating as he is.

That is not editing. He was like that the whole time he wasn't sleeping. He was actually pretty likable but I can see how he can be seen as definitely over the top. Definitely had a shtick going though.

His post on the board that was linked has him telling us he was told he was one of the best contestants ever,
or something to that effect.

What

ever.

D'oh!

I even googled that to check the spelling. "Gilbert Godfrey" gets 57,600 hits, including displaying his photo!

To TPTB, "best" has everything to do with performance art, rather than game play.

With a last name like 'carrion,' you'll probably do all you can to seem 'alive.'

We'll see today if he becomes roadkill.

You know, after his carryover, I really warmed up to him. I guess it was sort of a culture shock seeing such a high-octane contestant after a week of mild-mannered ones.
