The article notes that the player was one that had been returned and should not have been sold as new (or at all, if I read the article correctly).

Holiday stuff was marked down to 75% off at Target today. I found some "E" handkerchiefs, gift boxes and $.24 gift bags. They still had a lot of stockings and cards left, but I didn't need any of these items.
