Happy New Year!!

#1 Post by mellytu74 » Mon Dec 31, 2007 7:02 pm

Everyone -

I have made the dried beef cream cheese balls and the chickpea spread for the crostini, our after-dinner watching TV snacks.

I will slice the variety of cheeses and arrange the crackers in a moment. Enough for leftovers tomorrow.

The porterhouses are about to go on the grill. Dinner will be accompanied by lettuce wedges with blue cheese dressing. We went old school.

The prosecca is chilling -- for toasting tonight and for Bellinis tomorrow as we watch Philadelphia's annual folk festival, The 108th Mummers Parade. (We can't go to the parade. Boonie's neck just won't allow him to watch a parade for five or six hours, even sitting in a canvas chair).

Boonie and I are settling settle in for our quiet evening at home (with Miss Denise as chaparone) watching either Fred & Ginger on Turner Classics or Dame Judi in some of the early episodes of As Time Goes By.

As we do, we bid you a Happy New Year.

As Irving Berlin wrote, if you are worried and you can't sleep, just count your blessings insead of sheep.

I count you all among my blessings.

Be safe, be happy.

Melly

Sounds nice, but since I'm celebrating alone, I just put in a corned beef and ate nearly half of it. Urp! :P
