ATE
Erica: says she thinks staycation was probably definitely added in 2009
Jen says she thinks Frenemy was around for a while, and Erica agrees.
Erica kind of feels like webisode has been around a while too but she covers technology so was not sure if it was in the dictionary
Erica says subprime getting plenty of play, oh was it in the dictionary before though?
Jen- wasn't those kind of mortgages around? getting a lot of press
Erica - subprime is obviously something that is below prime, something that has been around. Let's see... Oh I'm debating between frenemy and webisode.
Jen- So if you are narrowing it down to two.
Erica- I'm narrowing it down to those two. I think those two may have come in earlier than 2009.
Jen thanks her and appreciates her help.

DD and answer
Jen's first answer was A
Her second answer was B

C. Subprime (:04)

Argh! You've got all the time you need, Erica, so read the question carefully! Certainly, all four of these words were "around" in popular usage for some time, but the question specifically states that three were entered into the dictionary in 2009 and one in 2008, so talking about any of them coming in earlier is bogus!

You might have better spent the time thinking about a certain news story than had a lot of airtime (even on your own cable network!) in 2008. :x

Edit: Ignore the below message, the ATE does not appear until the sixth question.

In spite of leaving w/o using a PAF, she may be the last contestant who had the PAF option.

Here she is with her topic screen

Now here is the topic screen for the next contestant, whom I'll get to later when I have time (he used ATA before the 5th question when I captured the topic screen).

Note only a cell phone, ATA (used) and the x2. It appears the cell phone is the new Ask the Expert symbol as the contestant would use the ATE.

Here are two news blurbs about Jen's appearance. The first describes her final question and lifeline usage. The second only says "she stumbled over a question concerning a dictionary listing."

That's lucky. A wedding snow machine seems like a foolish thing on which to spend all her winnings (after taxes).

C. Subprime (:04)
This is a toughie - all of them have entered the vernacular recently and it would be hard to choose among them. Given the constraint of TDC® I'd pull out a lifeline. Start with ATA to see what the results are and then go with ATE to give me time to think it through.
