The show has asked about "O Captain! My Captain!" before, which I remembered from Dead Poets Society. I wasn't sure if this was the same poem or another, but Lincoln seemed like a good bet here. I was also pretty sure that Whitman predeceased all the other choices, which makes elegy-writing for them a bit difficult.

At first I ruled out Lincoln because of O Captain! figuring that was the elegy for Lincoln then I remember the poem and had to backtrack.
