I saw it today. It is very well made, muchly dark but not quite Notes on a Scandal dark. The soundtrack is amazing, wwith a typewriter used as a percussion instrument, and there is a five-minute longshot in the middle that is amazing, with no CGI except some smoke.

The story is well-told, with some interesting time shifts. Not too hard to follow. Nice work with symbolism, like a mostly black-and-white war hospital and then two instances of bold red are introduced, for guilt. Stuff like that.

Keira Knightley is acceptable but all the other primary actors are very good, including the two young people who play Briony at different ages.

There is war violence, some language, and some sex scenes. The language is one sequence with a soldier who does the British overuse of the F word, and it's a funny sequence. There is another naughty word but it is typed rather than spoken. But you see it several times. The sex is only one intense scene, and you don't see any specifics but it's pretty hot. There are some references I'd think younger teenagers should be spared. I would cut off this one at age 15 or so.

Kind of Freaky-I am almost positive that I remember the actual Dan Rather story that was shown in the hot tub scene.

Absolutely loved it. If you love animal friendship stories and beautiful photography, go see this film. Its a great family film.

I could because I watched the TV show "Ed," in which Justin Long was a featured character fairly often. I show an episode of it every semester to start things off, and he's got a largish part in that one.

I think they picked PC guy because he has a resemblance to Bill Gates.
