12-28 My Name Is
Yeah, I kinda like nicknames. Who knew? The following nicknames are from sports figures. For a sporting (ha!) chance, I’ll give half-credit if you give the correct sport for which the person is known. This is not an extra 5 points, you can name the athlete for 10 points, or pull a sport out of your shorts for 5 points, but you don‘t get both.
1. The Splendid Splinter
2. The Golden Bear
3. The Assassin
4. The Human Highlight Film
5. The Pocket Rocket (be nice)
QOD: The Answer (athlete only on this one)
5 Point Bonus: Who is the Rocket (brother of #5)?
5 Point Bonus Bonus: What is the nickname associated with today's title? (Titles aren't necessarily related to the topic (right, Trekkers? Ha!), so don't limit yourself to sports on this one)
15 Point Super Bonus if you know the childhood nickname of the answer (ha!) to the QOD.

Yeah, I kinda like nicknames. Who knew?
Hmm, certainly not me!
1. The Splendid Splinter
Ted Williams. From the instructions it sounds like the sport doesn't matter if you know the name of the athlete and if you know the name of the athlete you probably know the sport, right? But what the heck, baseball.
2. The Golden Bear
Jack Nicklaus, golf
3. The Assassin
Is wrasslin' a sport? Then I guess I will guess Jack Tatum, football.
4. The Human Highlight Film
Dominique Wilkins, basketball. One of the very, very few bright spots in Atlanta pro basketball history.
5. The Pocket Rocket (be nice)
Nope. Wait, wait!
Mr. Richard, hockey.
Hey, 5 is better than nuthin'...
QOD: The Answer (athlete only on this one)
Nope
5 Point Bonus: Who is the Rocket (brother of #5)?
Roger Clemens? Only Rocket I know except maybe Maurice Richard. Ooh, maybe that is the answer to 5 unless Clemens has a brother in sports I am not aware of. Hmm, possible.
OK, I change my answer here to Maurice Richard! (That would be hockey)
5 Point Bonus Bonus: What is the nickname associated with today's title? (Titles aren't necessarily related to the topic (right, Trekkers? Ha!), so don't limit yourself to sports on this one)
First thing that comes to mind is Earl but no idea if that is a nickname and thus would fit.
15 Point Super Bonus if you know the childhood nickname of the answer (ha!) to the QOD.
Apparently not since you first have to know the QOD answer.

I just got back from visiting Annie at the dogspital. I told her the QoD questions I could remember. She was most annoyed that I hadn't thought to print them out. Nevertheless, here are the answers she provided to the questions I asked.
1. She doesn't know.
2. Mr. Jack Nicklaus (I don't know how she knows that.)
3. She thinks that's a terrible nickname, and she would never call a two-footer such a rude name as The Assassin, or even Mr. Assassin.
4. and 5. I couldn't remember the questions. She was sure she would have known, if I had been more efficient.
QoD and five-point bonus: All my fault again.
Five-point bonus bonus: She answered, "Mr. Shady. Mr. Slim Shady."
(I think she watches VH-1 when Meerkat Manor episodes are in re-runs.)
She is hoping to be back home to answer for herself before the month is done.

1. Ted Williams of the Red Sox. Sport is baseball.
bonus: Only Rocket I know is Roger "The Rocket" Clemons. Make that Roger "Dodger" Mr. Steroidal Clemons. I didn't know he had a pocket-sized brother. Sport would be baseball, but of course this is not the right answer.

Oy, sports again. On the plus side, I actually know a couple of these.
1. Ted "Teddy Ballgame" Williams
2. Jack Nicklaus
3. Jack Tatum
4. Don't know it, so I'll guess basketball (the game I know the least about) as the sprot.
5. Henri Richard
QOD: No idea. I'll bet it's basketball related again.
Bonus: Maurice Richard. (FTR, I was originally thinking that Rocket was Raghib Ismail, and Pocket Rocket might be the nickname of his brother, whose name escapes me, but then I remembered that the brother was nicknamed "The Missle," not the "Pocket Rocket". Then I realized you hadn't used a hockey player, and that Maurice's brother Henri played forever back in the 60s and 70s. So, yay me!)
Bonus Bonus: Marshall Mathers is known as Eminem and used the name "Slim Shady" for that particular song.
Super Bonus: Still don't know. I'll guess "Pookie".

QOD:??
5PB: Don't think you're looking for Clemens, as he doesn't have a famous brother to my knowledge. There was a hockey player who had that nickname, Maurice Richard. I'll go with him.
5pbb: Slim Shady aka Eminem
