I predict that Al Golden's Temple Owls will be in a bowl game next year.

I actually think this is one of the feel good stories in college football this year--a guy who decides to live up to his commitment to see what he can build.

Apologize for the cheap laugh line at TU's expense--believe me, as an SU guy--I got nothing to laugh about.

I also love the fact that the Board of Governors at WVU has decided to sue Rodriguez for his $4 million buyout clause -- about time someone stood up to these coaching Quislings.

I went to a couple games this year. I hadn't gone in several years because it had become such a painful experience.

The young Temple Owls are quite fun to watch. They are almost too young to be Owls, just Owlets. They had just three seniors on the roster this year.

The former University president had no love of athletics. Part of his agenda when he came in was to abolish football. That the program survived at all is a tribute to Howard Gittis, head of the BoT, and the Board.

Now, with Golden at the helm, people are starting to come back. They are excited.

I realize that it might sound funny to some people to get excited about a 4-8 football team (actually, a 5-7 football team since the refs admitted they screwed up the last call vs. Connecticut and Temple really did score a touchdown and win the game) but it has been a long time since there's been any optimism at all about the program.
