I have never heard "beery" before.

What are they doing? Do they want folks to watch this show?

Well, it's in the dictionary and has been around since the 1850s. I'd never heard of it either but clearly it makes the most sense out of them all - no need to try to overthink anything on the first five.

I've heard "beery." I've seen "beery." I don't think I've ever been "beery," but I suppose that if I were, I'd be the last to know.

Where the hell do they get these contestants?!

WWTBAM has just set an all-time record for futility.

Well if they ever call me I'll break that futility record. :D

Weren't you married to Wallace Beery?

Alternate BPOTD is that it takes a

Mazza-chist
to keep wanting to be on this show.

Nah... Wallace Beery is way too old for her. Noah Beery Jr. is closer to the ballpark.

This happened back in season two, didn't it? Two back-to-back 'llamas'?

With contestant selections like this, those ratings that were so recently boosted by the Tournament of 10 could be headed straight back into the basement again...

Also, I don't drink alcohol, so this one would have gone to the Audience if it was me.

You're bad! :P

While Merriam-Webster does have it in the dictionary, it does not have the definition "slightly inebriated".
Main Entry: beery
Pronunciation: \ˈbir-ē\
Function: adjective
Inflected Form(s): beer·i·er; beer·i·est
Date: 1845

1 : smelling or tasting of beer <beery tavern>
2 : affected or caused by beer <beery voices>
Were the question writers beery when they made this the first question of a stack?

I had not heard of the term beery before either but I would have picked it because it was the most logical. I thought jello-shotty was a crappy 4th choice that would also have fit but knowing the 4th choice was a joke answer on the 1st question I would never have picked it. Did anyone else notice that there was no laughter after the option was given? I learned that the audience is instructed to laugh heartily at the 4th option during the preshow warm up.
Sorry to spoil the show secrets.

The warm-up guy instructs the audience to laugh at anything that is even mildly amusing as if it was the funniest thing they've ever heard. :P

But, this time, maybe the audience was thrown by that beery question, just like the contestant.

Well this is sad, I put the blame on TDC. Still no excuse not to use a lifeline.
