You really ought to try it. It's an interesting shift from DDR.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:I have never tried it, though we have the game for both the PS2 and the Wii.
We did ruin our DDR pads over the holiday.

She beat it (I think that is what they say) on medium. She is working on the next level now.
He's beaten the first two on Expert, so now he's obsessing over 3.

A neighborhood kid is an expert as well.
Nate won't let him play with him any more.

I haven't gotten it for the Wii yet- that's my Christmas present to myself. I've played on PS2 and like it, though I'm sadly uncoordinated.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:I have never tried it, though we have the game for both the PS2 and the Wii.

Actually, the whole Wii thing just highlights that I am sadly uncoordinated, but it is fun.

That was one of the games my son was a tester for at his job. He's pretty good at it...he actually played and beat two of the guys who had a hand in designing it.
I tried it, but dint do so well..especially on songs that I used to play, or know very well. On the ones I knew how to play at one time, my fingers kept wanting to form the actual chords intead of hitting the buttons I was supposed to. The ones I knew well because I have heard them so often, I was having trouble playing the strum patterns they wanted instead of the patterns I knew by heart.
Most of the others I did poorly on because I now have the coordination of a hippo on a sewing machine.
Played "Rock Band" with my granddaughter on drums, my son on guitar, and me on vocals. The game told me I was "awesome" on the "hard" level of Black Sabbath's "Paranoid", then my son had to push the envelope, and the game was less impressed with my take on The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" on expert level. The ol' ego was taken down a few notches, I tells ya.

I've finished GH3 on Hard, and I am two songs away from finishing it on Expert. (I'm stuck on "Raining Blood" by Slayer, which is the song that's keeping me from getting to the very last song, which I'm sure I can beat. Suffice to say, I'm not a big fan of Slayer right now, hehe.)
The song you unlock when you beat the career mode is called "Through the Fire and Flames" by Dragonheart. If you've played the game before, and want to see something truly ridiculous, you can easily find videos on YouTube of people playing (and beating) that song on Expert. Absolutely insane.

I beat my oldest daughter on my first try playing High School Musical Sing It.

I've finally beat GH3 for Wii on "easy."
I wail on "easy."

Some other song (as best I can tell) where the player gets 100%

I've never taken my nephew up on the offer to play his GH game, so I have wondered whether actually knowing how to play the guitar would be an advantage or a detriment. We keep saying we need to have my brother try it sometime when he is out here because he is an incredible guitarist, whereas I am merely passable on six string (I'm a bassist).T_Bone0806 wrote:I tried it, but dint do so well..especially on songs that I used to play, or know very well. Your last line is funny, I now have visions in my head of hippos labouring in a sweatshop while Dance of the Hours plays on the PA (you know, like if sweatshops had PA systems, ha!).
