Online sales up 22.4%

#1 Post by Bob Juch » Wed Dec 26, 2007 8:51 am

MasterCard says online sales rose 22.4 percent from a year ago between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Traditional brick-and-mortar retailers fared worse as the survey showed only a 2.4 percent overall rise in holiday spending, excluding gasoline and auto sales.

Target Corp.'s December results reflected worrisome consumer trends, as the Minneapolis-based retailer said it may see a slight sales decline for the all-important period from a year ago.
