A prayer request
I have a favorite client who I have been working closely with for the last year. We are close enough that he invited me to have dinner with him and his daughters family on Christmas eve. I went to school with his SIL and his daughter was a bright beautiful woman.
This morning he comes by my office to tell me, his daughter and son in law were killed in a one car accident at 2 am this morning. Bill could use your prayers.

Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I am so sorry for this tragic loss. My prayers are with the family and friends of the couple.
