If the demise of the PAF means getting rid of WWOQ after WWOQ like that last one, then.....I might be all for it. I am getting so tired of these questions that I could give TWO SHITS about. Ken Jennings wrote in his book about this one time when he talked to a writer for Millionaire about how a good mid-to-upper level question has to be both challenging and interesting, and lately I just haven't even had the energy to read through half the transcripts because I know I won't discover anything new or interesting.

The only reason I knew this (or assumed I knew this) was a Woody Allen short story (Retribution, IIRC) where the main character falls in love with his girlfriends mom and talks about seducing her by bringing her to Trader Vic's and plying her with the drink that was the answer - so if the proposition goes over bad he could blame it on the drink. It seemed to me that it must have been the signature drink for Trader's Vic. I don't know how famous Trader's Vic is for that drink or not - but it did make it into popular culture at least around 3 decades ago ;-)

Another question for which I have no idea. DD won't help, so it's either PAF or ATE. Since the expert is Ken Jennings, I'll PAF now and hold ATE in reserve.

$25K: No clue. I'll try the audience first because the WWTBAM audiences like to drink. :P And if they don't know it, then I'll PAF.

I thought the answer was pina colada, as in "I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's..."

Well, that's Warren Zevon's fault. Not yours. The werewolf should've been drinking a mai tai.

This could easily have been a $1,000 (or $2000) question on Jeopardy in the Potent Potables category. And it is googleable. As with many questions, you either know it or you don't, but I don't see how this one is necessarily a "bad question." It might be about one question undervalued, but it's one that I've heard of for many years.

I thought it extremely ironic that they had a question that referred to a search engine on which they blame the demise of the PAF.
