WWTBAM Bored

We have just over 3 hours to go (but who's counting?) Today's scheduled lesson is "Reindeer Games". I handed each student a packet consisting of a list of 59 holiday song title acronyms, a winter word search, a maze, a crossword puzzle, and a cryptoquote. Then I handed out candy canes. They are quiet and engaged.

And all is good.

I wish you were my teacher.

Maddie's teachers are all testing her today. I am sure that she wishes that she was in your class

I think that tomorrow will be a slacking day in all of her classes.

Yesterday was our last day.

Normally semester tests fell on the last couple of days before break. With the State of Texas mandating the new start day, our semester tests will fall sometime in January.

I don't know which way I like more.

My office won't let me play in any of their reindeer games.

Yes, yesterday was testing day. Made all the worse because we were trying to make up some of the ground we lost during the ice closures. All the 8th grade teachers are finishing up units so we can start new ones after the break. Losing five days of class meant we really pushed it this week.

My students are awesome, and have worked their tails off Mon, Tue & Wed. I have no problem giving them a break today. In addition, classes are all shrunk from 55 minutes to 35 today to accomodate the Holiday Assembly this afternoon. Trying to get learning accomplished would have been impossible.

We called it Christmas Vacation when I was in school.

Hermillion -- what does your school have against Asians? (only 2%)

Girl brag away! It's awesome to see results from all the hard work we all put in, students and teachers alike. This past year we were considered the largest and most diverse middle school to receive "Recognized" status in our area.

Anyone can go to the TEA website to look up our info or as they call it our "report card". It's interesting to see the stats and how many of our kids are labeled ED.

Sidenote: Oh and we don't even have 2% Asian population. Ours was .4% (or 6 kids) last year.
