Apparently taking away Maddie's fiction and flat iron worked.

She took a math test this morning.

The grades were posted.

She got 86/85 and her grade is back up to an A.

I am so glad that my nieces have NO idea what type of shennanigans my brother and I got involved in as teenagers! WHEW! :?

Good for Maddie!

Does the teacher drop the lowest grade or something? There is something hinky with the average thing.

A in these parts is above 90.

Her grade on the test was 86 points out of 85. The Fantastic Quiz was worth 30 points, so it didn't count as much as this test. She previously had an A in the class, her average was lowered to 89.75 with the bad quiz grade. She made up enough ground so that her average is now 90.98.

We try to be honest with Maddie about the things that we did, so she knows why we are so protective.

Still, she does't know everything.

I wonder what passes for A around these parts.

[old man voice] In my day, You had to have at least 93 to earn an A. 86 to 92.99 got you a B. 78 to 85.99 got you a C. 70-70.99 was a D, and below 70 was an F.

That's how I remember it.

Where do you get an old man voice when you won't even admit to being a MAWG yet?

Old men don't have to be polite to young whippersnappers. :P

In some classes, you can get 89.5 and you will get an A. Maddie's math teacher was very specific that you have to have 90 to have an A.

The only B that Maddie got in middle school was an 89.487 in Algebra. One point would have given her the A-. Her grade should have been a B+, but it showed up on the report card as a regular B.

Can I be a MAWG if I don't buy into the cockamamie theory that there is some conspiracy against MAWGs via game show auditions?

Yes, that would make you a sarcastic yet naive MAWG.
