You're doing great! Unfortunately, the Steelers-Cardinals pre-season game was on here, so I didn't get to watch. You deserve to do well -- you provided transcripts for the WWTBAM syndicated shows for us. Can't wait to see you Sunday!

Finally. It's on here in LA. The benefits of not having a pro team in LA. Well, except for USC. Gotta beat the bored Bruins to the punch.

Many props to the Clem-Mike connection. I'm very thankful to Eddie for allowing me to see the $100,000 Simpsons question. :) Great play, and good thing for you that Connie Chung is a Sunday expert. Take 'em for a million!

I am curious if the "Sunday" show was taped right after this show, or did Mike actually have a chance to re-collect his thoughts overnight.

It is no fun being on a 10+ question roll, and then "cooled" over a break for a quick wardrobe change.

The "Sunday" show was the first one taped on Monday August 3.

I just saw Eddie win the FF. And I only have one question Eddie, why didn't you get as excited when we played NTN at Danny K's?

That was awesome when Clem ended the PAF call by saying "Go get 'em, Mike!" :D I was wondering if Reege would pick up on that, but apparently he didn't.

The kind of perkitude that Eddie/Mike showed when winning the FF can't be faked.
Spoiler
Although the AP's seem to think it can; at the Aug. 3 taping when he carried over, the video of his reaction to making the hotseat was shown (I don't know if that will be shown on Sunday's broadcast). Also, during a commercial break, I overheard an AP telling some of the ROF'ers to react like MikeHardware had in the event that they were to win an FF themselves. :)
Well-played, Eddie! And I'm glad you got to carry over so that I was able to meet you on Monday night!

Got the FF, but not fast enough, I don't think

25K: Have $2.00 bill in my wallet just waiting for a question about it.
And am still not sure I wouldn't have panicked at doing the addition in the seconds available to me. An ATA would buy time here, & if I needed it would have used it solely for that purpose. Let's pretend I don't.

50: Despite having seen about 72 billion Jackson things since his death, including shots of this cover, clips of the video, etc, would have had to PAF a Googler here.

I like that the Googler came through; I thought when they said "what was the question?" about 2/3 through the time, they would not come up with an answer in time.

Hope I get home in time to see the end of this Sunday, or if not, my VCR/converter box combo isn't fritzing on me. I looked for the 1st show (of which I missed the 1st contestant) on ABC.com for 2 days after it aired; if they're there now, &/or on hulu.com, I'll try try again.

Dadgum, I hate I missed all this excitement. I was at a bar chasing that Atlantis trip from NTN and they had the football game on every TV that wasn't showing trivia. Congratulations anyway Mike/Edddie! It sounds like you are doing great.

Quick mini-recap to go over my first (and very possibly last) PaF experience
BBTranscriptTeam wrote: With 29 seconds left, Eddie decides to Phone A Friend.

My thought process was as follows: "Wait! I saw that album in the office! It's where he's lying down with the white jacket and white pants I thi-HOLY CRAP! WHY THE HELL AREN'T YOU GOOGLING????!?!!!

The Googling commences and the results are a mix of Jackson photos, shots of his Thriller music video and the cover which I pinpointed quickly having seen it but just to make sure I asked him to
Joey: Repeat the question, please?

Eddie: Album cover of Thriller. What's he wearing?

And I wanted to spell it out clearly since the answer was long...
Joey: He's wearing a black shirt, a white jacket and white pants. Is that one of the choices?

Eddie: Yes.

Joey: 100% sure. Got get'em, Mike.

And the Bored shout-out at the end since I had the time. So now I wait with bated breath to find out how Mike finishes on Sunday!!
Regis: That's what Joey says! Joey says he's 100% sure, so what do you think now, big boy?

Eddie: I'm going for C, final answer.

Answer
C: Black shirt, white jacket, white pants ( 28 )

Thanks for the PaF recap, clem. This was a textbook example of how the Phone-A-Friend should work. I am curious to know what your Google terms were.

"Thriller album cover" brings up the album cover itself on the first page so there's no need to click on a link.

Good run Mike and a good use of the PAF.

I'm very curious to find out if the remaining questions he gets can be guessed from the category clues (they are so often obtuse) and how much attempted cramming he did over the weekend.

I sincerely hope that "The Simpsons" does not pertain to "Wallace Simpson's family" or "famous people (who I never heard of, except for Wallace, or Oh G-d maybe Jessica & Ashley) in history named Simpson".

Otherwise, those categories don't look crammable.

I don't know what Clem's search temrm were, but I clicked on Google Images (which i would haev done if I had been the PAF called and Eddie cued me in the exact same way) and typed Thriller"

That's all you need- the album cover is the predominant image that shows up.

I may have done "michael jackson" thriller just to make sure.

Anyway- just because Eddie said to treat him like any other contestant, I have to say on this stack, I would be where he was with ATA, ATE, and DD remaining- I didn't see I Love You Man, but remembered it had been referred to constantly in the media as a "bromance" (as a matter of fact, it was what I was looking for before the answer choices came up).

I may have had a brief panic on the Mt. Rushmore question, but hopefully would have calmed down enough to get it. You handled that one smoothly, Eddie!

This may be a first for us. The first time that we see the faces of all BBs on the PAF screen. Fantastic PAF work, Joey! Now hopefully, Eddie will get a decent Expert on Sunday night.

I remember Michael wearing a white jacket on the "Thriller" album. I never paid attention to the shirt or pants. I'd Double Dip on A and C.
