Nice job, Candy Crowley, on what was not a particularly difficult question . . .

This is one example where the contestant was at a clear disadvantage by having someone other than Ken Jennings as his expert . . .

And while I was rooting for this contestant, he did then proceed to totally squander his PAF. Was this the guy who was mentioned in a news article as never having seen a full episode of BAM before appearing on the show?

When he said he was going to double dip (not a bad move considering what they said), I thought we would be in for the rare double Dursting.

ATA on the Beach Boys question, then maybe a PAF on the QWERTY question...I don't know if in a short time, I could have reasoned this out.

The state capital question was horrific given the clock....I have all 50 state capitals memorized, but given the time pressure, could I have pulled that off? I would've tried, then if I couldn't do it, ATE to buy more time.

The $8,000 clue began with the word "fittingly" again...a dead giveaway to the answer...my God, has it really been that long since Tarzan that even Candy Crowley can't remember the author?

I probably could. After all, I did start in the eastern U.S. Had I gone from west to east, I may have been in trouble with TDC.

Sure! It helps to be from one of the -polis states. :D If Jacob had been Navy maybe he would have got it.

That's not how I would have done it.

I would have looked at each answer choice, and thought about capitals that end with that suffix.

Hopefully, after a couple of passes, I would have come up with the one (-polis) that had two.

Maybe I was just thinking the right way to begin with, but I knew what the suffix and answers would be before they were revealed.

It wouldn't have helped me if I didn't know that (*%)#_*$# Operation question though.

Got FF.

1K: Took a few seconds realizing the dwarves were miners.

4K: No idea. Obviously, I knew all the Beach Boy songs, but not the other band. ATA

16K: I touch type, but this still scares me. Have to imagine am at typewriter while clock ticks away.

25K: Don't know game. Guess "elbow" as more recent ailment than game's origin era, but ATA anyway.

50K: I could not come up with answer under clock; use ATE just to buy conversation time. And have that conversation, lengthily, unless PTBAM rules don't allow it even though Syndie does.

When I googled "Milton Bradley operation" there was a picture of the game board on the first page, so you could click on that to find out the parts of the game.

BTW, you couldn't use your ATA in this scenario since you, like me, would have used it for the Beach Boys question.

Eddie Lawhorn (mikehardware) had a math question at $25,000. Was that undervalued?

C, Annapolis came right to mind, with Indianapolis immediately afterwards
