COMMERCIAL BREAK

Trevor's mom, Judy, flew with him to the show and is in the audience. Regis says that what he likes about Trevor is that he takes every moment to study more trivia. When he works out at the gym, he has his gym trainer quizzing him during the workout. Trevor explains that it's a very small, unmarked gym that has no marketing and only survives by word-of-mouth. When you get there, it's like "Fight Club" but with trivia questions and weights. Even in traffic on the way into NYC from the airport (there was a two-hour delay to get into the Lincoln Tunnel), Trevor studied in the limo. Regis says that Trevor "has the eye of a trivia champion."

$2,000 (Savory Songs): Which of these herb names comes first in the title of a classic 1966 album by Simon and Garfunkel?
A. Rosemary B. Sage
C. Parsley D. Thyme

Trevor begins to say what he thinks is the name of the album (
Spoiler
"Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme"
), and says "I think that's right." He studies the question again (after being first prompted to "sing a few bars" by Regis and saying again what he thinks the order is), but with 8 seconds left, decides to ATA.
ATA Results
A. Rosemary - 12%
B. Sage - 3%
C. Parsley - 82%

$16,000 (Daddy Justice): What U.S. Supreme Court justice is the father of nine children?
A. Clarence Thomas B. Antonin Scalia
C. Anthony M. Kennedy D. John Paul Stevens

Trevor says that this might be a good one to ATE (19 seconds). Cokie reads the question and asks Trevor which he thinks it is, and he answers, "I have no idea, the Supreme Court is not my thing." Cokie replies, "It's not many people's thing....Now, I'm not supposed to tell you the answer, am I?" Regis says, "YES, you are!" to which Cokie replies, "Then it's
Spoiler
Scalia, Antonin Scalia
."

Spoiler
B. Antonin Scalia (15)
$25,000 (The Hangover): In the summer hit "The Hangover," a trio of groomsmen search for a lost groom in Las Vegas, eventually finding him where?
A. The top of the Stratosphere B. In a fountain at the Bellagio
C. On the roof of Caesars Palace D. On the golf course at the Wynn

Trevor started pumping his fist (as in "YES!") before Regis was even a third of the way through reading the question. Before answering, he says he made a point of seeing this movie two days prior to taping, because he had an idea that there might be a question about it!
Spoiler
C. On the roof of Caesars Palace (14)
COMMERCIAL BREAK

Coming out of the commercial, they show a highlight reel of Jason Block (aka rebel2008) on the show in January 2000. Regis welcomes Jason to the audience. Jason is asked for his advice to Trevor and says, "Know your lifelines, don't panic, look at the question, and if you don't know the answer, run; run as fast as you can and take the money, which is exactly what I did."

Trevor went back to school to learn video game, casino game, and web design. Regis mentions that so many young contestants on the show need the money to pay off student loans, and Trevor agrees and says he wouldn't recommend going back to a private school at age 30 because the tuition is so high.

$50,000 (Barack the Vote): The first U.S. presidential election in which Barack Obama was eligible to vote was won by whom?
A. Lyndon B. Johnson b. Richard Nixon
C. Jimmy Carter D. Ronald Reagan

Trevor indicates that Obama is now

, but is worried about

nostrils
so he decides to PAF (16). Standing by are Nathan (Chandler, AZ), Miguel (Irvine, CA) and Ron (Fresno, CA). Trevor calls on Miguel. He says he needs to know where the bizygomatic width (he spells bizygomatic) is, and Miguel immediately responds with
Spoiler
"Cheekbones...of, by, or related to the cheekbones."
They banter for the 13 seconds left on the PAF clock.
Spoiler
A. Cheekbones (7)

(Trevor says, "I trust him (Miguel), he's fast on the fingers....")
COMMERCIAL BREAK

My affiliate runs too many commercials, and we return just as Trevor's mother says something funny, but I don't know what it was.

$250,000 (Bleeding Love): According to legend, what historical figure died of a nosebleed on his wedding night?
A. Tutankhamun B. Attila the Hun
C. Hannibal D. Montezuma II

Trevor regrets not still having his PAF, and says this is too much money, so he's walking with $100,000.
Spoiler
B. Attila the Hun (11)

Possibly/probably ATE at $16,000 (I logicked- yes, via stereotype!- that it was Scalia, but do not know if I could have pulled the trigger in the Hot Seat), ATA at $25,000 (I want to see this movie, but just have not done so- will get it when it comes out on DVD), PAF at $250,000 (I did not know this one).

Good job, Trevor!

Long live the Phone Game!

$25K: I never saw this movie. I'll definitely use at least one lifeline here. Ask the audience first. If no answer is definitive, then I'll also PAF.

And the last three questions were absolute dream questions for me. I pre-called all three of the answers. I would've been playing for $500K with two or three lifelines.

There's no telling how much Trevor would've won if he had pulled the trigger on parsley and cheekbones... but it was a great run, nonetheless. Thanks for bringing the excitement back into PTBAM, Trevor. Spend that $100,000 wisely.

Hangover spoilers inside, although not any worse than this freakin' question!
I'm glad Trevor saw the film and hence knew this cold, but this question is a nasty spoiler. It's not that the groom turning up was unexpected, but the whole movie is funnier not knowing if or how the groom will show up. Also, it takes away the fun of figuring out where he is. There are clues.

If the answer was a nasty spoiler, than makes it a nastier question. It means that nobody would have learned the answer from seeing a preview or reading a review of the movie; it was really an "either you've seen it or you haven't" question. :|

Also makes it difficult to Google- so it looks as if you better have a PAF that's seen the latest movies.

Trevor, I apoologize for saying/thinking some unkind thoughts about you during the $2k, $4k, $16k, and $50k questions. We tend to get caught up in the game.

Good job with your stack. :)

Now, I am wondering if he will be the big winner for this go-around.

Try that in 30 seconds!

When I'm a Google PAF, I want the answer to show up in the blurb on the link itself- if I have to click a link and read it, that's gonna be tough!!!!

This would have been a dream stack for me, at 250K with all the lifelines.

I think that the clock really got to Trevor on the 50 and 100K questions. If he'd been on Jeopardy, he'd probably have buzzed in right away and gone with his gut answers. If he'd been on the old millionaire where he had enough time to think it through, he'd have gone through some more leisurely thinking and would probably have gone with his gut without resorting to lifelines. With only 45 seconds, he didn't have time to think it through and understandably bailed out. Having the PAF and double dip at 250K might have allowed some good googling to get a right answer.

You know, the regular "yell at your television" stuff, when things are in your wheelhouse.

I do get the feeling that Trevor might have had a better-than-normal shot at running the stack if he was not contending with the clock. He really seemed unnerved by the time element, to the point where he used a lifeline when he still had 22 seconds remaining on the clock.

I have thought about going back and watching previous millionaire winners' shows, to see if the clock might have caused a different result. (Earlier LL use, so that a crucial LL was not there for that tough $250k or $500k question). Of course, one also would have to account for the fact that the ATE lifeline would have been available.

I don't know about Appa, but I really wanted him to pull the trigger on the Obama question.

Of course, without a PAF on the $250K, I don't see him using DD on that question.

And I don't fault him for using his PAF on the $100K, because he indicated that nostrils was a wicked distractor for him.

hangover movie hotel brings up wikipedia as the second hit.

The blurb is "The four friends get a suite at Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino, then sneak onto the roof .... The Hangover is a funny movie, flat out, all the way through. ..."

Not definitive as to what happens at the end, but you'd guess correctly.

I don't think so.

Mikehardware is getting a LOT of publicity.

And no- I do not know anything. I'm just speculating.

In fact, this evening and tomorrow, I have to disappear from the boards, so I don't find out anything until I get a chance to watch the show!

BTW, this would be the fifth name he has posted regularly under..... he is giving Fanny a run for her money.....

Aside from his burning the ATA on the $2K question, what unkind thoughts were you having? :?

I do get the feeling that Trevor might have had a better-than-normal shot at running the stack if he was not contending with the clock. He really seemed unnerved by the time element, to the point where he used a lifeline when he still had 22 seconds remaining on the clock.
I had the same feeling. For example, even though he said at the end that he would have PAF'd anyway on the cheekbones question, given a little more time he might have convinced himself to go with that answer without using a LL, since he really did seem to know it.

Anyway, Trevor, nice job and welcome to the bored! And thank you for being another data point for the proposition that great contestants don't need to come from central casting! :)

I don't think so.

Mikehardware is getting a LOT of publicity.

And no- I do not know anything. I'm just speculating.

In fact, this evening and tomorrow, I have to disappear from the boards, so I don't find out anything until I get a chance to watch the show!
In my defense, I had forgotten that "Mike" was going to be on the show.

I did not realize that he was geeting a lot of publicity. I saw the local piece(s), and Google news search only shows that one.

I will have to get my chores done so I can watch tonight! :)

When I'm a Google PAF, I want the answer to show up in the blurb on the link itself- if I have to click a link and read it, that's gonna be tough!!!!
hangover movie hotel brings up wikipedia as the second hit.

The blurb is "The four friends get a suite at Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino, then sneak onto the roof .... The Hangover is a funny movie, flat out, all the way through. ..."

Not definitive as to what happens at the end, but you'd guess correctly.

I agree, The Hangover was very funny. I may go see it again, the drive-in not too, too far from me is showing The Hangover and Funny People (I haven't seen this one yet) next weekend.
