I will soon have a need to make regular calls overseas from the US to Zambia. I have been looking into prepaid calling card plans and have found one called Nobel. Also it seems they use Noble and "enjoyprepaid" as company names, at least when googling them.

Both seem to go to the same company site.

Anybody have any experience with sort of thing? I don't suppose anybody has any personal experience calling Zambia? Or perhaps some other similarly delightful third world nation with questionable telecommunications capabilities?

At least our questionable telecommunications capabilities allow us to send out massive amounts of revenue generating email. If you send a money order to my home office in Nigeria, I will set up an account for you with the Zambian Telegraph Company. We hope to have telephone service sometime by the middle of the century...

Mom gave me a Sprint card when we went to NY for the show in 2001. I still have it. It's $20 for 400 minutes, which might be a tad pricey, but we never use all 400 minutes in a year, and have to buy new ones anyway. I no longer use it because my cell plan includes long distance, but roomie has it, and it works fine. I don't know the rate for overseas, though.

Made my first call today. The connection proved to remarkably good, just a little lag time between responses. Supposed to be 5 cents/minute with no additional fees. And rounding off by the minute. We shall see if that is the case.

Should have kept a closer eye on the time to make sure it was tracked accurately.
