I recall you talked before about liking Carmelo and Iverson. Have you heard the latest AI news?
He wants to opt out of the last year of his contract in order to sign a long term one so he can be sure of retiring with the Nuggets.
He has said ALL the right things ever since he got here. How he always liked Denver, he loves the Rockies (the mountains), he wants to live here after he's retired, blah blah. He even went so far as to say the Nuggets have cool uniforms. What? But, one remains skeptical.
With this, he said he's there's a house he's trying to buy and he wants to keep it, not have to sell it when he goes somewhere else. The holdup is the luxury tax since there would be several years where he's over 36. Kronke's got deep pockets, but it has to bottom out somewhere. He already took on a bit of luxury tax to get AI in the first place.
Iverson says (contrary to his agent, ha!) that he wants to get it done fast. The money isn't a big deal, knowing that he 'doesn't have to take off his Nuggets uniform for a long, long time' is.
