Clinton Adviser Out After Obama Comment

The money quote:
Shaheen, an attorney and veteran organizer, had said much of Obama's background is unknown and could be a problem in November 2008 if he is the Democratic nominee. He said Republicans would work hard to discover new aspects of Obama's admittedly spotty youth.
"It'll be, 'When was the last time? Did you ever give drugs to anyone? Did you sell them to anyone?'" said Shaheen, whose wife, Jeanne, is a former New Hampshire governor and is running for the U.S. Senate next year.
"There are so many openings for Republican dirty tricks. It's hard to overcome," Shaheen said.
I can just imagine the kinds of dirty tricks that the Republicans are planning:
'Hey! A lot of voters in Iowa are probably real uptight about Muslims. Let's drop a lot of comments about how people are concerned that Obama is a Muslim, but let's do it in the context of, gee, this should not be an issue. Even though Obama is not actually a Muslim anyway. And after we do that, let's drop a lot of comments about Obama's drug use, but let's do it in the context of, gee, I hope no one starts talking about how he used drugs, or distributed or sold them.'
And just what do you call it when you accuse someone of engaging in something bad (like political dirty tricks), and you use THAT as an excuse to do the exact same bad thing that you criticize?
The Republicans don't need to do any dirty tricks-- they've got Hilary's campaign doing it for them.
