QOD Tuesday 12-11 "SUCK IT, TREBEK"
The weekend games are closed, but Monday's is still open through MM tonight. If you'd like a look at the month's standings so far, it's here:

12-11 SUCK IT, TREBEK
Yes, I realize with this crowd that a game show category might be a bit of a laugh. So these are game shows that I remember watching with my grandma. If you know how old I am, that might help you out. Ha! If you hadn’t figured it out yet, none of the answers are “Double Dare” or “High Rollers”.
1. Probably my Grandma’s favourite, and mine as well, it involved Tom Kennedy and car keys.
2. It seems this one was showed later in the day, after we were already back home. They say celebrities are treated like pieces of meat. In this instance, it was more like horse meat.
3. Another early evening show, this one combined two winning elements: Beulah the Buzzer and contestant embarrassment.
4. This one could get a little risqué for the time, it was sort of a cross between March Game and the Newlywed Game. Every day I’d pick my audience colour, usually aligning myself with whatever section Patti Deutsch was representing.
5. I watched this one during the day when I was older and working graveyard shift. I liked it for the fast pace and no nonsense questions, not to mention Jim Perry haggling like a fishwife.
QOD: Bob Barker got The Price is Right gig when it was decided that this game show host was not up the physical demands of the job.
5 Point Bonus: Name one of the original models on The Price is Right (Bob Barker version).
5 Point Bonus Bonus: Name the other one.

I have to admit, I'm not really one of the game show junkies in the crew. This will be really easy to score: Zero. Unless I can take a lucky bonus guess...

4. OK, it's that game with the celebrity couples, Bert Convy was the host, and one of the sections was "the banana section" (the other two were red and blue). AHA! Tattletales was the name of the show. <whew>
5. Sale of the Century
QoD: Hmmm...Bill Cullen hosted the daytime version and Dennis James did a syndicated nighttime version. I'm gonna guess "Bill Cullen".
5 point bonus #1: I remember Diane, Holly and Janice because of the scandal involving them and Bob Barker. I think Janice Pennington was one of the originals, so I'll go with "Janice Pennington".
5 point bonus #2: If Janice is one, then Diane is probably the other one, so I'll guess "Diane" (I don't know her last name).

Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

3. Another early evening show, this one combined two winning elements: Beulah the Buzzer and contestant embarrassment. Truth or Consequences
4. This one could get a little risqué for the time, it was sort of a cross between March Game and the Newlywed Game. Every day I’d pick my audience colour, usually aligning myself with whatever section Patti Deutsch was representing. I loved this show! Tattletales
5. I watched this one during the day when I was older and working graveyard shift. I liked it for the fast pace and no nonsense questions, not to mention Jim Perry haggling like a fishwife. Sale of the Century
QOD: Bob Barker got The Price is Right gig when it was decided that this game show host was not up the physical demands of the job. Bill Cullen - they also never showed him walking out onto the satge for his Pyramid gig, given his 'limp'.
5 Point Bonus: Name one of the original models on The Price is Right (Bob Barker version). Janice
5 Point Bonus Bonus: Name the other one. Holly

1. Probably my Grandma’s favourite, and mine as well, it involved Tom Kennedy and car keys.
Oh, I remember this. What was it called? I can see the car keys.
Nope. I'm seeing Hollywood Squares, but that was somebody else.
2. It seems this one was showed later in the day, after we were already back home. They say celebrities are treated like pieces of meat. In this instance, it was more like horse meat.

3. Another early evening show, this one combined two winning elements: Beulah the Buzzer and contestant embarrassment.
Beat the Clock?
4. This one could get a little risqué for the time, it was sort of a cross between March Game and the Newlywed Game. Every day I’d pick my audience colour, usually aligning myself with whatever section Patti Deutsch was representing.
I saw this once on GSN late night. Can't pull the title, though.

$ale of the Century. Awesome show.
QOD: Bob Barker got The Price is Right gig when it was decided that this game show host was not up the physical demands of the job.
Bill Cullen was the original host, but the show was different then. They originally called the Bob Barker version "The New Price is Right."

I don't suppose it was some kind of wife swapping game at the Kennedy household? Tom was no doubt one swingin' guy...
No, I suppose not. Sounds like Split Second.

Umm, no.

Truth or Consequences. Kinda like that game in 1 with the car keys at Tom Kennedy's house ...
