The lb13 signature thing...

I know your practice of signing an "lb13" at the bottom of every single post you write dates back to the time of our imp infestation, but has that become an ingrained OCD habit that you can't shake, even though we don't need it here? If the author block at the side of the screen isn't enough of an identification, you could always use the signature feature to attach it automatically.
And then I wouldn't have to delete the superfluous signature, every time I'm quoting you!

Mr. Marley, do you want me to stop smiling, too?

I used to do the same thing, habitually putting "tubadave" at the bottom of every message. I never really did that anywhere else on the internets, just on the Bored. Dunno why.
I think I still do it on occasion, sometimes without even realizing it. Old habits die hard.
And I can't imagine that LB would ever be OCD about anything. Inconceivable!

Oh, Annie, I don't ever want you to stop smiling!
Does your smiley not work correctly in the automatic signature field?

Why does it have to be deleted? Is that some ingrained OCD habit that you can't shake, even though you don't need to?

I would like you to quit sending messages to the back of my eyelids.

You know, I read your post before I replied but I didn't quite get what what you meant. "What is up with Jeems? Marley doesn't sign all of his posts!"
I didn't get it.......right up until the second I hit enter on mine. Duh. Ha!

I didn't want to put it there. That seems so impersonal. Besides, sometimes I might want to cry.

If I was really mean, I would suggest all posters start adding signatures to the body of their posts!

You just keep on keeping on, Annie! I like how your facial expression changes according to your mood or the content of your post.

You are a jokey guy, Mr. Uly! I like your eyelids. When you turn them inside out, are you trying to share my pictures with your friends?

Why, whatever do you mean?
"It's hard for me to congratulate somebody after you just lose to them. I mean, I'm a winner. That's not being a poor sport or anything like that. Somebody beat you up, you're not going to congratulate them on beating you up. I'm a competitor. That's what I do. It don't make sense to me to go up and shake somebody's hand."

I'd prefer that lb sign all his CowardlyNameChange posts with lb. Everybody else too. With their own name-they-post-stuff-they-actually-own-up-to-saying, not lb's, of course.

Yes- because it's not like their normal ID isn't an alias itself or anything!
BTW, have you managed to figure out who Southpaw Fanny is yet? The ID is tricky, I know...doesn't reveal a single clue as to who it is...

And that illustrates that you're not signing your messages, like "lb13", you're adding an emoticon to express your mood. Your own customized four-footer emoticon!
So that's a different thing, entirely!

In a post where you remarked about lb's apparent OCD with his signature, you mentioned every time you quote him, you delete the "superfluous signature".

When I'm replying to a quote, I take some time to edit the quoted message so that I'm only quoting the relevant portion of the text, and the "lb13" portion is not relevant, since his name already appears at the top of the quote box. This effort is consistent with my stand against gratuitous pyramid building, which fills pages with hundreds and hundreds of lines of duplicated text to add a one-line response to the bottom of it. I'm talking the talk and walking the walk, here!

And before this turns into a big debate free-for-all thing, I'm still interested in hearing beast's response to my simple question.
