Can we get the New Post indicators turned on?

You can click on the "View posts since last visit" link:
search.php?search_id=newposts
There should be a little orange icon before each thread's subject line that you can then click on to go to the new post.

Somehow that's not working well. Only the newest posts that I haven't seen have that and when I click on them, they don't take me to the right posts.
