I read "They'll Do It Every Time" faithfully when I was a kid (my Grandma got the St. Louis Post-Dispatch mailed to our home for years after she moved to Pennsylvania to live with us!) I had no idea until recently that it was still being published.
I recently rediscovered it when I started hanging around the Comics Curmudgeon blog (I mostly lurk, but when I do post I use my "The Wild Sow" identity -- not VA.)

TDIET was sorta the original "Pluggers" -- i.e., reader-participation comic strip.
