They do make mistakes. The day I got my Happy Card, they neglected to call my name among the passers and I knew I had aced that test. I was preparing to make a big scene that might have gotten me dragged off by security, when the AP came running out with the name of one more passer.

I agree with this. They have so many many more passers than they can ever use, they don't really care if they miss one. I think they probably don't calibrate the grading machines very often, or slow their operation down to make sure every single test paper is fed into the machine properly (altho if they had dropped one and found it within a few minutes, they would probably shove it thru and correct their winners list). If the machine ate a mark-sense form or two, we would never hear about it.

Otoh, it's pretty easy for someone taking the test to make stupid mistakes and never realize it. It doesn't take more than one or two to make the difference.

Look at this way, Elwood. A very large factor all thru the process is luck. Lucky to be able to get to the audition city. Lucky to not have an accident on the way, Lucky to pass the test and lucky to have it graded properly. Lucky to get an interview with a producer who likes your looks, mannerisms, story, whatever. Lucky to have your phone handy when you get the call. Lucky not to have to work the day they want you. Lucky to make it to the studio. Lucky on the FF, and the questions you get in the HS.

I'm trying to be philosophical about this. If I was unlucky in a different part of the process than you, the end result is the same.

I have empirical knowledge that they do make mistakes - @ the Ft. Worth audition a few years back, they called out the number of the woman sitting next to me as having passed; she was as stunned at passing as i was that I hadn't. This got straightened out when the names on the answer sheets didn't match up.

Thank you. You are right about all of that. Maybe I didn't really pass, but I just thought the test seemed easy and was certain that I had passed. I am also lucky to have the Bored to let off some steam about whatever is bothering me whether it is real or imagined.

I was very pleased with the pre-lim interview, but I felt like I never found my footing in the video interview. I may try the phone game. How hard is it to get through?

I must have been in a different session than goongas (I was in the 5:45pm). In the entire room (seemed to be at least 150 or so), only 8 passed the test (my number was the first one called). Of those 8, only 2 got the taped interview. Amazingly, I was one of those. The test did seem somewhat harder than usual, but my educated guesses all landed true. None of the APs looked familiar, though.

For the 2nd interview, I was taken to offices which were in the process of being set up (large bullpen area with a handful of offices around the perimeter) and the taping was done in one corner of the open area. (Last year, I waited for my taped 2nd interview in the Green Room.) This area wasn't that far away from the cafeteria where the test was administered. Hard to tell how the taped interview went, but I suppose I'll find out soon enough. For now, I think I have enough reasons to be optimistic. On the way out, I passed by one of the offices with the name "Michael Davies" on it with said Mr. Davies sitting inside hard at work.

Let the mailbox stakeout begin!

P.S. For the 2nd night in a row, I bombed on the phone game on question #3. Despite knowing the exact years that 2 movies came out (they were both Best Picture winners), I reversed their order. D'oh!
