We've gone from summer to winter in the space of a day - yesterday the high never got above 55 (lots of clouds) and this morning it was only around 40, with an anticipated high of 56. I like the cooler weather but would appreciate more of a gradual decline in temperatures.

A high of 56 isn't winter, ear!

Early winter, then, or late fall. In either case, a more gradual transition would be nice.

Life is pretty good when what one complains about is the weather.

It most certainly is.
