Some scientists are trying to cure cancer.

Some scientists are trying to stop global climate change.

Some scientists are trying to find life on other planets.

And then there are scientists who are creating glow-in-the-dark dogs.

Wow. Just... wow.

I don't know...maybe a squirrel that's smart enough to stay out of the local power plant's spent fuel rod pile?

Now we're doing found it's on LB's avatar changes? Things are getting out of hand.

I do like the glowing squirrel, though. :D

Hey, I just try to keep my avatar relevant and cute while ES hones his artistic skills. I can't help it if people want to have a little fun with it.....

This is sort of a dilemna for me too.

Some scientists just make body wash.

But I have talked to some people who say it makes them feel good and feel better about themselves. And I am okay with that. It isn't curing cancer, but I am not sure my skill set is a good fit for that research.

I did work in powder coatings where I felt like I was helping to minimize pollution, but I had to move along.

I don't understand why a glowing dog has value and it seems like borderline animal rights issue to me.

Sort of off topic but on topic......

CBS Morning show had a segment on adopting Greyhounds this morning. Lots of good information
and they gave a website to visit for those interested.

The article you linked to explained this as a proof-of-concept experiment. It also quotes other scientists with reservations about this experiment, both for its low success rate and for the ethical issue.

I saw the report about the greyhounds. Now that dog breed is what the Obama's should have adopted.

Just plug the dog's tail in an electric socket and it will glow in the dark. It seems only slightly less humane and it's a heck of a lot quicker.
