Good year for us.
The Purdue-IU FOOTBALL game may actually have some meaning this year (!)
Are you working for Ron Paul?
I've got several high school kids excited about his campaign. Don't know if you know about the Fall Festival, but several utility poles in the area got "Ronned." That's high school slang for the minor vandalism of plastering Ron Paul posters to cover every reachable square inch of the pole.
Truly, I haven't seen this much high-schooler interest in a presidential campaign in the twenty years I've been teaching. Givven that this is southern Indiana, you can't find too many outward Hillary supporters, but you can find blocs for just about every other major candidate.
They did laugh at Huckabee, though. Prolly cause of that movie from a few years ago.

Yeah, my son's been talking about it for a couple of weeks.

I caught the Republican candidates' debate on CNBC on Tuesday. I admire Ron Paul's honesty - when asked if he would support the eventual nominee he was blunt. He said he wouldn't because the other candidates were leading the Republican party down the wrong path. I've also been impressed with his ability to raise money even when the media are discounting him as a marginal candidate. I don't think he'll get the nomination (any more than Kucinich will get the Democratic nod) but he is a breath of fresh air, even if a little too libertarian for my taste.

The Bucket game always means something. Another win for Purdue!
I'm not working for Ron Paul. I haven't really done anything with the LP down here. He is an interesting guy and I like that fact that he seems to actually do and vote for the things that he believes in.
It's good that your students are active and interested in someone. Anyone. I hope that is true in more places. I miss being at school and teaching with the campaign going on.
