Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis, both on the verge of officially being traded to Detroit, are the last two remaining members of the Florida Marlins' 2003 World Series winning team.
Not a single one of the 40 players who played for the '03 Marlins is still with the team just 4 years and a month later. This has to be the quickest dismantling of a team from any year, let alone one that won a World Series championship....

Didn't the Marlins do the same thing a few years ago? Putting their stars on the block and having a "fire sale", I mean.littlebeast13 wrote:Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis, both on the verge of officially being traded to Detroit, are the last two remaining members of the Florida Marlins' 2003 World Series winning team.

Yes, the 1997 team, but they didn't decimate that entire team in just 4 years, although they came pretty close. I only found 2 players from the '97 team who hung around at least 5 seasons later...
Cliff Floyd made it till midseason 2002, and Luis Castillo, the longest tenured Marlin in franchise history, was with the team through 2005....
