I have never heard of a man having mehndi. You might have to dress up like a woman to get it done. But that could also fall under the category of amusing yourself. What I meant to say was that I might get a drawn-on tattoo rather than a permanent one. I didn't realize that there was a specific type of henna tattoo (mehndi). When we had a day celebrating our Indian coleagues, we had people who would draw mendhi for you. The men do indeed get them. Never have anyone use the so-called black henna on you. Many people are allergic to it and it will cause major scars in the pattern, just like you were branded!
