Terminator 4?

I just read on IMDB that Christian Bale has agreed to play John Connor in Terminator 4. I'm surprised at this since Bale usually looks for challenging roles. T4 just seems like a disaster waiting to happen...

He's sorta hot though, so it might be ok.

That really depends on the direction they go in with the screenplay. If this turns into a standard good guy vs. all powerful killer robot with lots of CGI graphics, then it will probably seem like a warmed over rehash.
However, the time travel aspects of this series has always been interesting, and if it is set during the actual time period of the terminator wars, it could be entertaining. I've always thought the best aspect of the series was the idea that a terminator could be anyone, and a film that plays into that sense of paranoia could be very effective.
