senior pranks

on the radio today, people were talking about senior pranks. three kids got suspended for 2 days for putting forks in the front lawn of their high school. then other people started calling in pranks. this is my favorite:

a kid mailed a letter to all the parents of the senior class that there was a problem in the cafeteria and they needed to check for bacterial infection and asked that all the parents bring in a fresh stool sample to the office. The next Monday the office was inundated with stool samples. pretty hysterical, huh?

and all we ever did was get alarm clocks and set them for the same time in the locked lockers.

have a great day!

Sounds like something chronic diarrhea would do. We just sold elevator tickets, to a non-existent elevator, to the freshman. I think they had to wear a ridiculous beanie as well.

Somebody in my class took a For Sale sale out of the yard of some house and placed it in front of the High School.

I've been seeing local news stories about a teacher who rented advertising space on his tests. I can't decide whether to be amused or horrified. --Bob

Both. The version I saw indicated he was doing it so he could buy the paper on which to print the tests and other handouts for his classes. His school couldn't afford it, so he had to buy it on his own.

Any new developments since we discussed that in December?

A school in Pocatello, ID, made both national news (featured on NPR) and our local fishwrapper as well. A pizzaria donated money to the school and now all the handouts have an ad at the bottom of each sheet of paper offering a one-topping pizza for $5.00. According to the newspaper story the pizzaria purchased enough paper for the rest of this year and all of next year as well. Local officials were concerned at first but the principal decided to let it happen because "it makes a point about what economic hard times can force people to do."

Many of the pranks at my high school revolved around the fact that it was a boarding school (during the week), and so had rooms.

We would douse someone's door in hairspray or rubbing alochol, knock, and then light it on fire when the person went to open it.

We would brick people into their rooms.

We would tie the doorknobs of rooms across the hall from each other, especially on field days (where an alarm wakes everyone up.)

We would move (sometimes pick up and move) cars from the parking lot into the surrounding fields and valleys.

didn't any of these pranks get punishments? seems they crossed the lines for safety. The others just seemed to be annoyances.

We used to do those in college. When we weren't busy rigging the pinball machines or dancing on library tables.
