Vick accused of illegally tapping pension plan
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — The federal Department of Labor is accusing imprisoned NFL star Michael Vick of illegally withdrawing more than $1.3 million from a pension plan.
The department filed complaints Wednesday against Vick in federal district and bankruptcy courts in Newport News.
Vick attorney Mark Lichtenstein declined to comment on the complaints.
The department says Vick made a series of prohibited transfers from a pension plan sponsored by MV7, a celebrity marketing company owned by the former Atlanta Falcons quarterback.
The department says the plan assets were partially used to help pay the criminal restitution imposed on Vick after his federal dogfighting conspiracy conviction.
Vick is serving a 23-month prison term.

According to USA Today, NFL Commissioner Goodell says Vick must show "remorse" before he can rejoin the NFL.

Chicago Bears coach Lovie Smith said that while he is committed to Kyle Orton as his quarterback, he believes Vick deserves a chance to compete for a job.

"Mike made a mistake, and he's paying the price for that mistake. Once you've paid your debt to society, you have to say, 'OK, let's go on from there.' "

While I respect Coach Smith's display of Christian forgiveness, I'd rather see Vick "play" against a pack of wild dogs than return to the NFL.

I'll repeat what I've said in the past: Roger Goodell is a dick. Has been for years. I wouldn't even trust him to be a dogcatcher, much less the head of the NFL.

This two-footer was in Oklahoma City last night, staying over while being transported from his federal prison to some court place in another part of the country. I asked my mom to drive me up to visit him in his overnight jail. She wouldn't, which disappointed me because I very much wanted to have a serious talk with him in my deepest growly voice. In addition, I wanted to show him my big, pointy teeth up close and personal. I was going to show him the place where I'm missing two teeth and let him believe that I left those in the leg of the last bad guy I saw.

I wasn't going to hurt him, not even a little, because I'm not that kind of girl. I wanted to scare him, even a lot. That's the kind of girl I could be, just for him.

They have a news crew camped out at the James City County jailhouse since they got confirmation from two other jails he would not be arriving there, but JCC had "no comment"....

This is not nearly as horrible as the dog mistreatment, but it's still horrible. When I was in HR, our pension administrator wouldn't let one of our employees take about $5,000 out of his 457 Deferred Comp plan to fix his well -- his only source of water, except trucking it from the water dispenser about 20 miles away. So I think the IRS should throw the book at Vick and leave him in jail another two years for pension fraud.
