It's 11:30. I could have used the luck about an hour ago. Or my husband could have called me back ASAP so I could have gotten the grandstand tickets before they were released back into the pool!

He got the 5 buck bleacher seats, and he has to like it....

$5 for the seats and how much for the airfare, hotel and restaurants so that he can use them?

Your husband does more to stimulate the economy that I do, that's for sure! :)

Round-trip airfare for 2, $255 total. One night in a hotel, $200. The rest of the time will be spent at his sister's house so Mini-me can hang with the cousins. They have school when he has Spring Break.

Yankee Stadium beer prices might be higher than the airfare total........... :P

He can put a hurtin' on some orange soda!

When Steve took him to Dodger Stadium, they sat in the all-you-can-eat section. Smart move.

You could probably wedge four Mini-me's in them. That is one rangy child. If his pants are long enough, he needs about 4 belts to hold them up.

It was a good place to try to catch a Bonds home run ball and tank up on Dodger Dogs, though....

He's good at using the wide eyes and dimples for catching stuff from the grownups around him, but not for a part of history. That was a day when Bonds could have tied the record.

And don't ever throw ANYTHING up into a coconut palm tree if you ever want to see it again, BTW. He brings baseball stuff on all our trips, and he lost about three baseballs and a kickball we found up in palms trees! They sure can catch...

Mini, you should have talked to me first. I spent last Friday morning looking for Yankee tickets.

As I have recounted (vented) here previously, I have a partial season ticket license and was eligible to purchase individual game tickets prior to the general sale today.

Best I could come up with were 4 seats in the stratosphere for the Phillies game Memorial Day weekend. There were no- repeat, NO- seats available for a Boston game in August, or a Tampa Bay game in June. Unless of course, I was willing to pay $425 for premium seating, which I wasn't. Just as an experiment, I couldn't even find decent seats for a Monday night game against Kansas City in September.

When the Yankees gave their season ticket holders permission to re-sell on StubHub (with a cut of the vig going to the Yankees- surprise), even middling seats got snapped up by people buying full season tickets, and many of us got offered partial plans that are unusable, such as folks from Massachusetts who had a Saturday plan who were offered a mid-week plan. Basically, the Yankees have turned most of their full and partial season ticket holders into brokers, with a percentage going to the House That Ruth Didn't Build.
I am about 25% sure of this.

You need to keep a recording of your doorbell in a handy place by the phone. "Sorry, the Jehovah's Witnesses are here again. I gotta go run them off before they convert the cat."
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

Nope. School cranks back up for him that day.

We were in the lottery for presale, but we weren't selected. Then they say you have to buy through yankees.com, but it takes you right to Ticketmaster. Had I known that, I'd have signed into Ticketmaster first. THEN I see certain games are considered Premium with a limit of 4 seats. My choices were 5 or 8 for our crew, since kids were involved who can't sit alone. So I tell my husband this and he says to try anyway just to see how much they cost, and it takes 20 minutes, and I page him, and he hems and haws and says buy them, but by then the time had expired. So I try again and the seats are gone.

So I got bleachers. I also tried "Best available" and got seats for $2,625. Each. Not counting the $59.70 (in)convenience fee. Each.

Bastards.
